May, You really know how to disappear!

Image
The month of May has been a whirlwind of life! I was looking forward to May and then it literally slipped through my fingers. I am praying that summer is a bit slower, so I can unwind a bit!  May started off with a great sewing class. I learned how to make some cute pot holders along with some pretty suh-weet hand towels! I love the bright colors! I think I need a "beach" room. Maybe that can be added soon!   Mother's Day was celebrated at a new local restaurant called Ploughman's Pub. It was delicious and full of smiles and laughter!  I definitely have the BEST mom hands down! I am beyond grateful for her!  I also continued on my AdvoCare products and continue to see incredible results! Ryan finished up his challenge down 10 lbs and over 10 inches! I am so proud of him. Dad finished his challenge on the 24th and lost 16 lbs and over 8 inches! Words can't explain how much I love what these products have done for peopl...

Announcing our new addition!

Image
Announcing our new addition...the bathroom!  We have an awesome bathroom...if I do say so myself! So, to make it even more awesome, we are adding some beadboard. Our inspiration is from the cabin we went to a couple of falls ago.  It was 100% perfect, so we are having my baby brother recreate it!  Here's the inspiration!  Here's what my bro is creating! Looks good, right?! :) Right now, it looks like a construction zone, but it's well worth it.   Lyla is amazed!   My favorite part is this gorgeous mirror. It's a Martha Stewart special and Greg has made it look like part of the wall. How awesome is that?   I can't wait to show you all the finished product! Come back soon!   Thanks Greg!

So Ready For Spring

Image
I am so ready for spring (or some grey boots), so I can wear this little baby! Is this skirt not screaming sunshine! Mom had another sewing class on Saturday, and I got to make this sweet piece to add to my wardrobe. There is something so satisfying with making your own clothes with your own hands! This was the first time many of us had put in zippers. Another added bonus was the cute pockets! I love pockets...how about you? I also loved that I got to see one of my favorite Phi Mu sisters from college! Juliette signed up for the class! I loved catching up and sharing more laughs. College was even more fun than it should have been because she was a part of my memories!! I also got to sew again with Miss Krista! She is awesome and it looks like we had the same love for stripes in our pic below! Glad she shared the class with Jules! If you haven't already, check out Mom's sewing biz @ Just Sew! Studio on Facebook!

Curtains

Image
Back around Thanksgiving, I decided to buy fabric on black Friday. I know, of all the deals I could have gotten . . . fabric? I did get an amazing deal on this fabric. It was 50% off and I bought 5 yards. I walked out of JoAnn's with Mom and a confidence that these curtains would be made before Monday. WRONG! Life happened. It feels like the weeks before Christmas, Spring Break, and Summer Break are the BUSIEST times of my job! Needless to say they did get finished over this weekend. Is the fabric not gorgeous? I've been taken away with the idea of red and turquoise . . . LOVE IT! And without further a due. . . INTRODUCING THE DOSS CURTAINS: What do you think? Can you believe they are finally here? NOW, what to put in this room?!? Don't worry! I have a couple of ideas up my sleeve!

So, here's my twist on this outfit! {Not real sure about the browns in the picture, but without the flash it doesn't look that off!} Brown and black; have you tried it! Heck, if Kate Moss does it . . . it's ok! Source: google.com via Van on Pinterest Have you done it?
