So Ready For Spring

Image
I am so ready for spring (or some grey boots), so I can wear this little baby! Is this skirt not screaming sunshine! Mom had another sewing class on Saturday, and I got to make this sweet piece to add to my wardrobe. There is something so satisfying with making your own clothes with your own hands! This was the first time many of us had put in zippers. Another added bonus was the cute pockets! I love pockets...how about you? I also loved that I got to see one of my favorite Phi Mu sisters from college! Juliette signed up for the class! I loved catching up and sharing more laughs. College was even more fun than it should have been because she was a part of my memories!! I also got to sew again with Miss Krista! She is awesome and it looks like we had the same love for stripes in our pic below! Glad she shared the class with Jules! If you haven't already, check out Mom's sewing biz @ Just Sew! Studio on Facebook!

Sew! Saturday!

This weekend Mom held another class at Just Sew! Studios and taught some ladies how to make a stylish dress! You may remember this dress from a past post HERE . Mom and I put our brains together and designed a quick way to put a tank with some fabric together to make a skirt. Several compliments were given, and Mom thought it would be a great class to have. She was right. I think it's the best dress we've made yet! On Saturday AM, the class started! Chelsea and Kathryn were there to make dresses as well. Mom began instructing us and letting us work at our own pace. Chels even got to bring her Project Runway machine! I seriously want one! It has tons of stitches and just looks cool! Here are some pics of us sewing! {Kathryn, Chelsea, and me with our finished tank dresses.} Needless to say, we're all very proud of ourselves! We all went out and bought belts to be even more fashionable! The project basically took a tank without a ruffle and stitched ou...

Happy Tuesday!

So...sew! Wow, since Mom has begun her sewing classes I have been her BEST student! Yes, you heard it...me! I went over to the house tonight and we used a tank from Old Navy and material from Whipstitch and got busy. We pulled together several different tutorials to design the dress and after a couple of hours my new dress emerged! I can't wait to wear it at the beach, especially because of the ships it has in the design. OK, here it is: We used the excess fabric from the shirt for the ruffle at the neckline! I love how it turned out, and I can't wait to make some more. In other news, me and Danielle and our wonderful hubsters are so excited about the beach...we can't sleep! :) The sand, sun, and blue skies are waiting for us! I also got the monogrammed floppy hat I ordered from Marley Lilly and will put a picture up tomorrow! It is perfect!! And today...I GOT MY HAIRCUT by the wonderful Carrie Baby ! She is fabulous and I trust her with my hair life! She is a ...

Super Saturday

Today was a great Saturday! I woke up at 8 am and relaxed while eating my Honey Bunches of Oats with raisins (BOGO at Publix) and drinking my Chocolate Glazed Donut coffee (5 calories...promise). Then, I got ready to head over to Laura's wedding shower at Danielle's parents home! My mom made one of her beautiful signs, and I made her a DVD of all of the engagement shots I took for them. You can watch the video below. At the shower we got to wear our fancy hats. My floppy hat I ordered on Thursday isn't here yet, but will be Monday, so I wore another one! My sister had a social for Phi Mu and decorated my black beach hat to look like it belonged at the Derby. I was a bit mad at her for turning the hat so over the top, but NOW I am thankful she did. It was a hit and I felt so posh! The Bride and ME! Danielle and Laura Danielle and the bridesmaids threw a gorgeous shower complete with a cake made from Paula Deen's relative! I will link to Danielle's blog for...
