What I'm Loving Wednesday

Image
I wanted to share with you what I am loving today! {1} I am going to be an Advocare junkie for life! I have such an excitement for it. My family and friends are all feeling good because of it too. I posted this weekend about my progress so far - 5+ lbs down and a couple of inches.  I wanted to share with you what my best friend, Danielle, said about her whole 24 Day Challenge! {I am on day 24}! I will be doing my exact measurements tomorrow and posting! From Danielle : I completed the Advocare 24 –Day Challenge last week….and I honestly could not be more thrilled with the results!! On day 2 (the herbal cleanse phase), I was feeling SO much energy!! I couldn’t believe it!!  By day 11 , I stepped on the scale and was down 5 lbs! That is HUGE for me because I have been the same weight for the last 2 years- even while training for 2 full marathons!! (No, I did not lose a single pound- even while running 40+ miles a week!) At the end of my challenge, I am proud to say...

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Wow, is it Friday yet? I do love that today is one of my favorite blog days. I am going to throw my pins in with what I am loving today and this MONTH! December is even better as I get older. Thank God for the greatest gift of all. Andy Stanley is going through the genealogy of Jesus at church. I love his series that we get at church. This one is called "An Unexpected Christmas" and focuses on Matthew throwing in some unusual people in Jesus' family tree. If you want to check it out, go here! You won't be disappointed! I love that we had our first round of Christmas parties on Friday and Tuesday! We enjoy relaxing, hearing stories, and telling stories. I love that we have so many friends and family members in our lives to share life with! This week one or both of us has a party on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday! I can't wait! This does mean that I have to make it to the store to get some gifts for the Favorite Things and White Elephant games along with som...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

There is certainly so much to be thankful for! Here's what comes to my mind this week: *I am loving my job! My students are like little adults and a microcosm (don't you love that world - I learned it in college) of what we are like in the "real" world. They say the darnedest things. Recently they have started calling my Mrs. Dossy or Mrs. Doss-a-pus ***I correct them because frankly that sounds gross, but I can't help but laugh inside***. *I am loving GIVING! Ryan recently made me a deal in order for him to clear our closet before his side of the closet was stolen by my side! It consisted of boxing up things I don't use or wear anymore. I have a tinch of hoarding in me. Yes, I said it! I admitted it! I never knew this until I got married! I like to shop and never throw much out of my closet! **Don't get me wrong - I am not one of the crazy ladies stepping over piles of stuff and boxes to the ceiling. I just have a lot hanging in the closets.** I packed up...

For the first time in a long time, I am linking up with Jamie! Today there is so much to be thankful for! I am LOVING that I am done with my Educational Specialist in Leadership!! Now, hopefully I can get a job as an Assistant Principal one day! I have graduation on December 10th and am ready to put my HOOD on! Wow!! I am LOVING that there are 25 more days til the BIG DAY of Christmas! I am LOVING that I was invited to a Favorite Things party. Since Oprah is no longer hosting her famous Favorite Things episodes, this may be my lucky night! I am LOVING that we are hosting the 2nd Annual Tacky Sweater party at the VanDoss residence! Suh-weet! Now, to find the perfect attire to deck the halls with Christmas spirit. Check out our party pictures from last year! I am LOVING that there are 12 school days left until our Christmas Break! Ryan always reminds me of how lucky I am that I teach and have breaks. I know I get great breaks, but I firmly believe they are necessary to keep a positive ...

What is happening here?

I love that question! It reminds me of my sister learning how to sew. Her panicked voice squeaked, "what is happening here" when the sewing machine rapidly slid her fabric under the needle and left a crazy stitch! That's what my life feels like! WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE! Goodness, I am loving the new school year. I feel like teaching has finally clicked. There's definitely a method. I feel confident and it helps to have some of the most supporting admins that let you teach! What a beautiful thing! My class is fabulous, and I enjoy hearing their in-depth conversations about cells, factors, and the Civil War. Today, we enjoyed a SURPRISE from our assistant principal and principal dresses in crazy attire. The kids took the minute of surprise and are working on stretching the story to show tons of details! I am starting my last semester of college! I will graduate with my EDS in Leadership in December. Woo hoo! Third college degree DONE! I love that people a...

I love him! Thursday and Friday, Mom held her sewing classes. They were super successful! I am so proud of her. I also love that she took the time on Friday afternoon to help me sew this little number below! I wore it out on a girl's night with Carr...

Our New Home

Nope, we didn't move, but our church NOW has a permanent address. We were using the Athens Classic Center for worship, but now it's even better. The building is the old WalMart/Steve & Barry's on Atlanta Hwy in Athens. It has had an EXTREME MAKEOVER if you will. Today was our first service on the campus, and it was an awesome experience that had God all over it. Check out the pictures, and PLEASE if you are nearby come and visit...you may just like it! I got to be a part of the Production Team, and wear a cool shirt that said so! Check out the next couple few pictures and take a look for yourself! This is in UpStreet which houses elementary age sweeties! The above picture is made to look like the GA Theater and is where large group meets! This cool kayak is also in Upstreet! The creativity of the interior decorator blows my mind! Downtown street scene! MY FAVORITE VERSE! Mom shared this with me while I was in college and it has gotten me through a lot! Adult ...

I AM LOVING THAT IT IS MAY!! So many FUN things happen at school in May! It makes me love my job even more! Today, Pam and I got to teach a dance class to students. They had the biggest smiles on it. How fun it was to let loose. I am loving that Lyla girls birthday is tomorrow. She will be a year old. I seriously understand the love for a dog by it's owner now. She is our baby that we take care of...spoiled rotten is what she is. I will probably be getting a treat for her tomorrow. I love that Ryan and I have been on a workout high. He is doing so well and I am pretty proud of myself as well. YAY Team Doss. God sure does have perfect timing and I love it. He knows exactly what we need in the right year, month, day, hour, minute...second. God prepared me this week for something that could have been super hard without Him. I LOVE that He is amazing. Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they ...
