Carol's Bachelorette Soiree!

Image
{Me, Hannah, Erin, and BRIDE Caroline} On Sunday, July 1st, we all headed out to celebrate Caroline's almost-married-but-not-quite-yet day! I was by far the OLDEST of them all making reality a bit hard to handle! Thankfully they all let the GRANNY (that's me) hang out with them! We enjoyed a great meal at Cheddar's! I am sure we were the loudest table in the restaurant, but our waiter was super cool about it and made Caroline's big night a success because of his kindness! Next, we enjoyed a chick flick and opening some presents at the house. While we were away Auntie Ann and some family came over to Caroline and Thomas' new house and decorated! We stayed up late talking and laughing! I know Caroline LOVED it! Good job to Hannah, the little sister, for planning a successful night with fun games and yummy treats!

Caroline's Bridal Shower

Image
My sweet cousin Caroline is now a married lady! We had some fun events before her wedding! Back in June, we threw her and Thomas the cutest shower! Mom and I worked hard on thinking of details for it. Erin and Abby helped us pull it all together! Her colors are coral and navy which are so IN right now.  Caroline got a lot of presents that will be useful for them in their NEW journey! We served a great brunch! Mom made fat-free mini blueberry muffins, quiche, punch, and cupcakes! I added in the non-cook things like the strawberry-pecan salad and fruit! For the favor we gave the girls a "redneck-wine glass" that Mom made for the punch! They were a hit for sure. Don't you love the straws? I loved the added fun touch they gave! Mom put burlap and a ribbon on mason jars for vases. It was precious! The BEAUTIFUL bride! I am so happy for her! Now I can tease someone else about when they are going to have kids instead of catching all of the ...

Words Fail Me. Haiti 2012.

Image
Words fail me right now. I have an entire journal full of things, but I want to leave you with this while I catch up on American Life. . . aka HOMEWORK!   Haiti changed me.  For that I am grateful. The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’  -Matthew 25:40

I give all myself to YOU!

Brit, from our Haiti team, sent out this incredible video. I let my team know that I may have this on REPEAT until Saturday at 3 am when we leave out! How powerful. Music is such a tool for God to speak to us through. It is such a blessing.  Not too long ago, I found these cards. They are perfect for my trip. Leah, the designer, just got back from a mission trip. Check out her blog and shop here . They came in the mail today and I have been working on writing messages inside to my prayer warriors. Our team is going to be the hands and feet of our Lord, I know we will be taken care of, and I want the hearts of all involved to change and be used for God's purpose.  I met with my sweet girl, Danielle , today and she prayed over me. We may have looked pretty awkward standing in the shopping center parking lot praying, but gosh it was one of the most powerful moments of my life. Tears were on and off as we discussed the power that this trip holds. She gave me...

Family Beach Pictures

After having fun at the beach all week, we decided we needed some family pictures! Kayla had an idea for us all to wear our Columbia shirts! It turned out perfect and we had a blast! Then we enjoyed a yummy Italian dinner and a night out with the siblings! Adam can cut a rug to Billie Jean for sure!

Thanks to Danielle , over at Butler, Party of 2, I was given a Blogger Award! Thanks girl!  Here we go…  1. What is your current beauty obsession?  Hmmm! It hasn't changed in a while, but I can never stop using my Bare Minerals! I love them. It's easy to drop some major cash down when I go in the store because it is the BEST! I absolutely LOVE that they put SPF in it. That along with my moisturizer makes me feel that much safer during the day!   2. What is one beauty item you wish you owned?  I have no clue! I feel like I have everything that I really NEED. I guess if I could get anything though it would be one of those double barrel curling irons to create the spirals that I love! Hmmm...hard one!   3. What kind of posts are you favorite to read and write?  I love reading home decor and house tour posts! People are so creative. I definitely get a lot of inspiration from those!  I love writing vacat...
