Maggie's Birth Story

Image
Starting around 37 weeks I noticed I was having contractions, however they weren't painful just the tightening up of my belly for a minute or so at a time and of course they weren't regular...aka Braxton Hicks. These came nearly every day, some lasted longer and some days there were only a couple I noticed. This made me excited, anxious, and really made my sister nervous because she wanted to be in town. All I knew was that I wanted Maggie to wait and make her appearance after my sis arrived. This was a daily prayer. Erin flew in on the 6th and we had plans to get a pedicure on the 8th. April 8th came and we made it to the nail salon. I asked the nail tech to really massage my legs because I knew that was something that was said to possibly begin labor. They said they weren't allowed...psh whatever! I still got a great leg massage, but not nearly as intense as what would be needed for labor. Erin and I had a great lunch at Savory Spoon and then shopped (well, Erin di...

Happy Birthday Sissy!

Image
My sister has the biggest heart. I really don't know a single person who cares so much and loves so much. If you know her, consider yourself blessed.  She is adventurous. She loves to laugh and enjoy life. Being a nurse has been her calling and she's incredible at her career...I was blessed to have her there when both of my babies were born. She rocks!!  She knows Jesus and isn't ashamed to share His love with others. You can just tell that He lives in her when you're around her. She's the most devoted aunt and basically a second mama to Vann and Maggie. She lights up around her nieces and nephew. She keeps it real! When I'm stressed she will calm me down, she will tell me to get off Google when I'm acting like a Dr., and let me know if something's a big deal or not. I wish you a Happy Birthday and pray even more blessings for you this year!  I love you Sissy!

Happy Memorial Day!

I'm so glad that we live in the USA! Even though there are things that happen here that we all don't agree with, this country is beautiful in many ways! We have freedom to live our lives because of the men and women who serve our country and give their lives in the name of freedom!  To celebrate we spent it with family at the lake and our home.

Maggie : One Month

Image
One Month Old Maggie is now one month old! She's been the perfect addition to our little family. Vann is in love with her and uses the sweetest voice when he speaks to her. What Maggie's Been Up To: This past week Maggie went to Downtown Athens to see the Twilight Bike Race while big brother stayed with his Mimi and Papa. She slept until middle of the men's race and then needed to eat and head home. Sunday was Maggie's first day at church. She came along in the K'tan carrier and slept through the service. We enjoyed a lunch afterwards with Mimi, Papa, and Kayla for Mother's Day.  Health: Maggie is such a happy baby. She is starting to smile back (just in the past 2 days). Tummy time is not her favorite, so she manages to roll over onto her back to get out of it! Her sweet face is broken out, but I am praying it will go away in a week or so. It looks painful, but I don't think it bothers her at all. Her weight gain seems to be going well because her l...

Margaret Katherine aka Maggie arrived on Saturday, April 9, at 12:39 pm weighing 7 lbs and 4 oz and 20 inches long! She is perfect in every way and we are so happy to hold her in our arms!  Big brother is excited to have her home and is being an excellent helper!

Because Maggie is nearly here! Make your best guess!

39 Weeks with Maggie

Image
How Far Along: 39 weeks    According to The Bump:  Your Baby is as Big as a Watermelon Baby's probably able to flex limbs now. Baby's brain is still rapidly developing—and getting smarter by the week! Baby's nails may extend past the fingertips. Baby keeps growing, despite being so crowded in there. She probably weighs around 6.2 to 9.2 pounds and measures about 18.9 to 20.9 inches. (That's a big discrepancy) -- The Bump  Sleep:  Braxton Hicks were in full swing the last two nights, so sleep wasn't exactly happening. Ryan and I both have a love-hate relationship with my Boppy Total Body pillow. It's getting old flipping over not to mention pulling the pillow over with me. Just a few more nights!!  This Week: We had a busy week getting lots done. Vann had his 2nd dentist appointment and did fantastic. Vann and I both got our hair cut as well. Ryan and I enjoyed a nice date on Saturday. While we were out we end...
