21 Months

Sweet little boy,

You are growing up! You are talking up a storm ~ READ: You are repeating everything we say!

Yard tools are your favorite and you get that honest. Anytime Daddy is outside cutting the grass, edging the yard, and watering the plants you want to be right there! One day this month we caught you acting like things were leaf blowers. You used a paper towel roll, toys, and even a sprinkler. We even ended up buying one your size!

Back in February you started asking to go peepee in the potty and I was not sure if I was ready for that. You would go when you wanted to, but you weren't 100% all in with the training aspect. I will say that you are very routine about using the potty before your bath time. You are so smart!

The library is one of your favorite places. You love going to see Amy and Laura and seeing all of the books. You've met some friends, but you're still not ready to sit down and play with them. You definitely do your own thing and stay busy!

Marshall and Angelina got married this month and you attended your first wedding! During the ceremony you sat on Uncle Jack's scooter aka "Cool Car" and made driving noises! Afterwards you mowed the grass and only stopped to eat dinner and a cupcake. We stayed in a lake condo with the family and enjoyed skipping rocks with daddy on the lake. You slept so well while you were there and the first thing you'd say in the morning was "Ah-ba" aka Ava! We had a great time and Mindy took our family photos. She was phenomenal!

You weigh about 24 lbs. We aren't so sure how tall you are, but you do look like you just shoot up all of the sudden. Daddy and I will look at eachother and say, "doesn't he look bigger!" You are in 2T shirts and 18-24 month shorts. You wear a size 6 shoe...but could probably be in a 7!

Swimming is a new found love! We took a couple lessons with Avery. She did a great job being patient with you, but you weren't so into them and cried for Mama. Later the next week Daddy and I took you swimming and you were trying to do it all on your own. You're blowing bubbles in the water and kicking your feet. I have a feeling you'll be swimming very soon because you love it so much!

Your eating habits go up and down in terms of how much you eat. I can tell when your growing because you love any foods and eat it all, but other days you just snack and pick at your food. Some of your favorites are cheese, almonds, dried cranberries, sausage, eggs, chicken quesadillas, pizza, Mommy's shake, bars, grapes, apples, hummus and pita chips, blueberries, and cookies. You love eating your vitamins every morning and ask for them whenever I am talking to Lolli on the phone! You're getting good at saying exactly what you want.

We spent a day on Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Hartwell with the family and you had your first boat ride on a big lake! Papa took you on a ride on his boat and you wore your life-vest, hat, and sunglasses. You loved it and have asked for a ride on Papa's boat many times since then.

There was another first this month as well: you took your first trip to the ER! Friday morning you woke us up crying hysterically. It was 1:30 am and your fever was 103.5. I texted Aunt E and she told me to give you Tylenol or Motrin, fluids, and check your temp again in about 45 min. We did and your fever dropped to 101. You wanted to go back to your bed, so that's where you slept. I set my alarm to check on you in another 45 min, but at 2:30 you started crying again. Daddy went in to check on you and you were shaking. It looked like you were getting little zaps every 3-4 seconds and would scream out in pain. I was super scared and couldn't hold you, so I handed you back to him and ran around to get dressed and get your bag together so we could head to the ER. About 2 minutes later you had calmed down and didn't have a fever. I called the nurse on call at your pediatrician and she recommended we head to the ER to check. Once there they took chest xrays, blood, your vitals, and ruled out a lot of things. You were a big boy for the majority, but when some of the drs and nurses came in you'd poke out that bottom lip and say "Mommy's car"! You went home with no fever and the diagnosis of Febrile Illness which means sick with a fever and they weren't sure what was causing it. We visited Dr. Johnson, who is amazing, and he said it was most likely a viral illness and you looked good. Later that evening your fever went up to 103.6 and back down until Saturday night when it spiked up again. You were the sweetest baby and we felt so bad for you. You snuggled with us a lot. We think you may have had a tummy bug and are super glad it's gone and you're allllll better! Mimi brought you some banana bread that you enjoyed when you felt better!

You had your 5th haircut and were not happy about it. Your lip poked out and the tears started coming. You even pushed Miss Carrie's hands away from trying to put the cape on. Thankfully they had a mini Uga dog that sat with you. I also told you that you had to stay still or else the clippers would bite you. That seemed to work really well and your hair looked great!

E bought you a cool golf set. Every morning for the past week you've woken up saying, "ball. hit ball?" You love to be just like your daddy!

Our nighttime routine is my favorite! We have supper, play outside, Daddy gives you a bath and gets your pjs on, and we pray, I read you stories, rock, and sing to you. Then you go right to bed in your crib with your "b-ta", Uga, and Uga's "b-ta". Many nights I will say "Good night, I love you and Jesus loves you" and you will respond "of you" which means "love you". You melt our heart!
