WILW!

I love that Sunday was Easter. The greatest example of forgiveness was Jesus dying on the cross for us and ALL OF THE WORLD'S SIN! How amazingly giving. On Easter we met at my aunt and uncle's home for an awesome Easter lunch. We then went to Ry's padres and ate another yummy meal! Needless to say, we are STILLED stuffed! Here are some pics!

The ladies. Erin, Mom, and me!
Sis, bro, and me!
Doss and me! I HEART HIM!

I am loving that we are 6.5 weeks away from our vacation with our B.F.F. couple at Happily Ever After!

I also love that Mom is having her apron class on Saturday with Just Sew Studio! I can't wait!

I also am loving that my sis is getting pinned tomorrow at her nursing ceremony! I am super proud of her!

Speaking of love, check out this beautiful video about the gift of love we can give to all!

I am also LOVING that the storms are soon to be behind us, but right now pray for all of the people in the path and those with destruction and loss.

Happy Wednesday! Go link up with Jamie and share yours!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday sweet ladies! I hope that everyone is enjoying their blessing of each new day and the life that comes with it! I love linking up with Jamie @ this kind of love. Check it out and link up too!

This Wednesday I am loving that God has given me peace about certain issues and it feels so nice to see that my faith is growing. I love getting together with the ladies of my small group!
I am loving that on Friday we went to Atlanta together and laughed the night away! It was a great evening with new memories made!

This song is another one that I am loving! See my post from yesterday about liking slow music. What a gorgeous song with meaningful lyrics.

I love that Easter is this weekend. I am not loving that I don't have a new dress for it, but I am sure I can find something in that closet of mine. It's a bit crowded. Our church is having a Good Friday service and I can't wait to see how God works through it.

I am loving that my students did an amazing job today focusing and giving their all! They are sweet blessings!

I love that my mom is hosting her 3rd class at her sewing studio. Her site is here @ Just Sew! Studio. If you are in the area, sign up and visit!

I am loving that the tax deadline has passed and my amazing hubby is HOME for good before dark! I just love him sooo much!

Stylish Blogger? Who? Me? YES!

My beautiful, giving, and God-fearing best friend Danielle from Happily Ever After blessed me with the Stylish Blogger Award! Wow!

Here's how it works:
1. Link back and thank the person who gave it to you.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 5 stylish blogs you read.
4. Contact them and tell them about their award!

Well, where do I begin...

Jesus is my savior in case you couldn't tell from other posts. His father is my father and is the reason I exist, breathe, and smile! I love walking in faith with Him and giving Him the credit to the sole purpose I am alive.

My husband, the Dossinator, is a beautiful soul. I love to hear him laugh, not just a little laugh, but when I really say something he thinks is funny. I feel like I hit the jackpot! I love waking up to him and falling asleep next to him. I could not ask for more!

I went to a wonderful university tucked away in the fabulous mountains of north Georgia, hence the name, North Georgia College and State University. I made some memories there that I will cherish for life and beautiful friends that I am forever honored to know.

I work at a fabulous elementary school where I teach energetic 5th graders about standards, but even more important about all of the possibilities in life. It is my prayer that they reach for the moon because the worst that could happen is them landing in the stars. What a great place that would be!

I am a computer geek. Seriously. I love it. I spent a year as an Instructional Tech Specialist at a marvelous middle school. I got to visit today when they had CRCT Idol. I was told by a sweet teacher from the school, "Gosh, we learned so much from you last year. You are awesome!". That would never get old to hear! Technology is going to do nothing but expand in the future. We must embrace it!
Last year we did a CRCT Idol song...check it!

I ran my very first 5k on Sunday! I am hooked. I am registering for one on May 7th and can't wait. I got a trophy because I placed for my age group. How very unexpected.
Sara over at Mixon Mania snapped some action shots of her sweet babies and I giving high fives as I ran by running my first 5K!

I love music. Any kind. It all has a time and a place. I was teaching reading today and the story we were reading was titled "Moon River and Me", so what do I do? I pulled up YouTube and played Frank Sinatra's Moon River. I have had friends tell me I listen to depressing music. To me the most passionate music is the slow stuff that truly tells a story. I also love starting my day out with Christian music. One of my favorites is below. Check it out.

Here are the 5 blogs I am awarding the Stylish Blogger to:

Erin @ A Little of This and a Little of That
Brittney @ Livin' Our Love Song
Mary (mom) @ Pink Apron Girl
Sara @ Mixon Mania
Danielle @ Holt's Hoopla

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

My spin on enchiladas! Dosschiladas

So, tonight I came home from work, played with Lyla, went on a run (2 miles...so proud), and then remembered I had to make dinner. Well, I didn't have to because we have some leftovers, but I wasn't feeling them AGAIN! Last week when I went to the grocery, my least favorite place on earth, I bought items to follow a recipe online at allrecipes.com. Well, I was ready for that one...except for the directions called for baking the dish for an hour and a half! IT WAS ALREADY 7ish. I was not about to have a grouchy Dossinator. I like him just like this: {helping prepare the tortillas}To make these yummy Dosschiladas:
1. I boiled the chicken (1 lb).
2. Next, I mixed up fat free sour cream (8 oz), shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups), 1/4 tbsp of grounded red pepper, and added in my diced chicken to a large bowl.
3. Ryno started taking the flour tortillas and frying them in oil for 5 seconds on each side. When they were done he dipped them in a bowl of green enchilada sauce and layed them on the cutting board. {I normally never take off my ring unless I have to get my hands dirty}4. I took a spoonful or so of the chicken dip and rolled it up nice and snug in the tortilla.
5. The tortillas were placed in a 9 x 13 pyrex and placed in the oven for 20 minutes @ 375*.

{nice runners hair while I cook}
ONE WORD: Delicious.

Ryan says this is our new staple. We had it with some natural salsa. It would also be great with some green onions inside. For 2 of these yummy delicacies it is under 220 calories and under 4 grams of fat. That's a yes in my book!

Let me know if you try it or something yummy!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I absolutely LOVE linking up with Jamie over @ This Kind of Love every Wednesday!

{click the pic to visit Kory's site}
I am positively loving that last night over 200 people came out to our friend Kory's porch to pray for him. He is battling AML and is at MD Anderson in Texas. Today he had his stem cell transplant. Tuesday evening everyone was dressed in red with their Bring It On shirts and bracelets. Leave some love on his CaringBridge site
and add him to your prayer list if you will!

Over Spring Break little Miss H, her mama, Lulu, and Nana all got to spend time in sunny FL! She turned one on Thursday and is a precious blessing to my Big in Phi Mu and Best Friend! :) I love seeing Steph as a mama! She's FABULOUS!

I love that over Spring Break I got to read...no computer to distract! I read Emily Giffin's "Something Borrowed" and I am soooo ready for the movie! Now, I am reading Safe Haven by N. Sparks, my dependable man!

I am loving Lyla's new fence! Ryno and I had a minor disagreement about it. I really wanted wooden, he was fighting for black chain link. I am a firm believer that the man is the spiritual and all around leader in my home, so I agreed with him. I thought for sure our field of a backyard would look like a prison fence...but I was wrong! How neat! Miss Lyla is LOVING it, too! P.S. Ignore the yard...sod and trees are coming soon!

I am loving that I have 30 days of school left until SUMMER! I live for the summer! I will miss my class greatly though.

LOVING that in 8 and a half weeks we will be in Mexico loving the sun, beach, and friends!

I am loving that on Monday morning my class walked into the classroom to hear the song "Born To Be Wild" and had race cars to write goals on/color! They loved it. I am not a racing fan, but the kids loved it! :) We're racing towards the end! I especially loved one little girl's goals: **1. Wear sunscreen at the lake (she was burnt on Monday). 2. Pass the CRCT to go on to 6th grade! 3. God bless you Mrs. Doss!** Loved that one! HAHA! I got the idea here:
This Wednesday, I'm loving that my hubby is HOME! Tax season has been long enough and I have been anxiously awaiting these spring nights when he is home before 9 pm! I love that he is sitting beside me watching the Braves game! I love you Mr. Doss!
{us at a Braves game in '07 ... how freakin' cute...makes me want long hair}

Top 2 Tuesday: Drinks

So, today's Top 2 Tuesday is about drinks.

All you normally find me drinking is water. I have been trying to get the Dossinator to drink more, so I bought some of the little powder things that he can mix in. It seems to be working! Just know the top 2 today are fun ones that I only have on special occasions.

1. Milkshakes. I know, I know...BUT I treat myself to my guilty pleasure about 3 times a year. This year I am almost to my limit, but I cannot even remember having ONE last year. So, the two that I have tried this year:

a kid's cup of the Banana Pudding Milkshake

a Burnt Marshmallow & Nutella Milkshake from Flip Burger in Buckhead
These are heaven in a cup. The only thing that would make it even better would be ZERO calories!

2. Soy Milk - You can find this in my cereal every morning. OH MY WORD. I was down with drinking skim milk my entire life, but I think we've made the official switch to soy. Yes, even Ryno thinks we have found perfection. YUMMY! Anyone else drink soy milk regularly?
My original light silk!
Ryno's fave!

Enjoy your night! See you back again for What I'm Lovin Wednesday! Can't wait to share the cool things going on in my life!

Just Sew! Studio

So, I don't know if any of you check out all of the amazing craft blogs out there, but when I started looking tons involved sewing. My mom has sewn clothes, curtains, bags, you name it since I can remember. We used to have matching mommy-daughter clothing. I have only sewn things with her complete supervision except for 4 Flintstones costumes in college! I know I am surprised too!

When she came to me with the idea to do a sewing class much like the popular painting classes that are being offered I became one of her biggest fans. I created the site, helped promote it, and designed her logo. I am praying that it becomes big. This is her talent teaching + sewing and they = something awesome! Sewing is a pastime we tend to forget about because we can so easily go out to a store and buy what we need in the time it would take us to make it, but where is the fun in that. Where is the unique quality of your clothes when 5 other people have on the same thing at a party. All of the dresses with the ruffles that are so in right now can be sewn by you and be completely different because no one will have your fabric!

Mom opened the doors to her in-home business 3 weeks ago and has had 3 classes. One class was learning to sew pillows. That now live in my guest room. I love the detail of the ruffle up the side.
Then, on Saturday we made shirts to send to the children in Japan! How exciting that we can do something so little to cloth the sweet babies that lost tons in the tsunami/earthquake. God bless them.{Sis and I with our shirts for girls in Japan}

Last night we made our own pajamas! We got to applique on the shirt and sew little boxer shorts. I totally slept in mine yesterday! They were comfy, and I looked cute!

If you are in GA come check out our site and visit us! I pray Mom blesses others with her talent of teaching and sewing just like she has blessed me! I also hope that if it's God's will her business booms!

Happy Sewing and enjoy your Saturday!

Pictures + Cooking

Lately, the only way that I have enjoyed cooking is by doing my favorite thing TAKING PICTURES! So, here is a recipe I found over at The Pioneer Woman and thought my healthy-eating friends may enjoy!

I found this great recipe while making my grocery list! Ryan wasn't the biggest fan because of the lack of meat, but he still ate it all!

First, boil your bowtie pasta. I get whole grain!

Chop up your zucchini in smaller chunks!

Slice grape tomatoes in half. *I tried not to eat all of them!

Mince parsley. I am not the best at this as I kept thinking I was about to chop my fingers OFF!
Mix it all together with a squeeze of lemon juice and a couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and put it in the fridge. I stuck mine in the freezer for about 20 min. since we were hungry.

Loved it! It is a great spring/summer meal with plenty of raw veggies! Next time I may add in some shrimp or a little chicken so Ryan will like it more!

We watched Life As We Know It with Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel! I loved it in the theaters and Ryan got to see it for the first time. Great one if you haven't seen it!

Happy Friday!

Here you go!
