Week 13!

Well, it's week 13 (1/3 of the way there) and to celebrate I got to hear the baby's precious heartbeat. It was beating at 152 BPM and sounds loud and proud! I am also excited because in two weeks we will fingers crossed know what our bundle of joy will be. What's your guess?

Highlights: Week 13

How Far Along: 13 weeks today!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 4 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Just rocking the Belly Band. I realized last week that the same company makes them for $16 at Target and $32 at boutique stores. Are you joking? I love them.

Sleep: the dreams didn't bother me this weekend, but this past week it was all about BUGS. Gross worm bugs. What in the world?

Best Moment this week: I loved spending time with my family at my brother's birthday. We enjoyed Ted's Montana Grill. So yummy! I always forget it's there, but glad Daddy brought it up! Mom made an ice cream cake...MADE it! How cool it that?
Gender: 2 MORE WEEKS! Hmmm...

Food Cravings: Pickles! Pickles! More Pickles. I think I smell like pickles! I am also loving some yummy raw veggies and smoothies! My favorite kind of smoothie has strawberries, blueberries, banana, almond milk, and a small tbsp of peanut butter. So good!

Food Aversions:still grilled chicken...missing it as a healthy choice. Had turkey burger patties tonight.

How’s Mama? Doing well, but SLEEPY! Man, if I would only make myself nap when I get home. Just not a napper...feels like I waste my day!

What I am looking forward to: So much. Designing a nursery. Finding out boy or girl. Heading to TX in two weeks to see George W., Michael W. Smith, and Andy Andrews! Feeling Baby Doss "kick".

Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Our sweet baby is getting bigger. Now Baby's head is 1/3 the size of it's body. I love this, little Baby has fingerprints and vocal cords are forming! Also, the intestines are making their way from the umbilical cord to the tummy.
Our message to you: Sweet blessing from Heaven, thanks go to God for forming you and knitting you together so perfectly. It is truly amazing how fast you have grown. Your parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are so excited to meet you!

Highlights: 12 Weeks

Highlights: Week 12

How Far Along: 12 weeks today!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 2.5 lbs

Maternity Clothes: maternity leggings are killer! I love them. We were shopping this weekend and mom, Erin, and I ran into Motherhood Maternity. They were having a buy one get one 1/2 off on leggings! Since mine were starting to roll down, I grabbed two pairs and don't regret it a bit! I've worn them each day!

Sleep: if you don't count losing about 30 minutes a night due to nightmares, then sleep is going pretty well. I can still sleep in any position, but my side feels the best!

Best Moment this week: I really enjoyed spending time with the hubby and our families. It was nice to treat Ryan to a nice birthday dinner and dessert!

Gender: Hopefully, 5 more weeks until we find out!

Food Cravings: Pickles! Pickles! More Pickles. Ryan laughed at me in Publix yesterday and asked, "why don't you just get the value jar"! It was huge, but I went with the medium one! Haha!

Food Aversions: still chicken...grilled=gross! I can't stand the smell. I cooked some for Ryan, and asked him to finish making it. I've been reading up and this is common. Wonder what the dealio is with that!

How’s Mama? This lady is doing pretty well. I am feeling beyond blessed to know that a sweet life is growing and being planned. At the same time, Saturday was a weird feeling day. I started feeling a bit chubby (which I know is ok) and it's gotten to me a bit more today! Hopefully when my tummy actually looks prego and not like I drink an excessive amount of beer, I will be in better shape!

What I am looking forward to: Hurry up drs. appt!

Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: our little plum is just growing! Plum has nails, fingers, toes, and a swirl of hair. The fingers will begin to open and close soon!

Our message to you: sweet baby, you have already brought us so many blessings and put joy deep in our hearts! Thank you, and keep up the hard work of growing and staying healthy!

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

Happy Sunday! I am linking up for another edition of Sunday Social!

What is your ideal way to relax?
Hmm! To relax I normally put on my pjs or something comfy and grab my computer or a book to read blogs or pin. MY IDEAL way to relax would be in MX at Iberostar Grand Paraiso where we went for our honeymoon. I would be at the spa getting another one of their amazing massages and relaxing in the heated indoor pool. Yep, that's my IDEAL way!

Where is your favorite place to be?
Hmm! This will make me sound boring to a lot, but honestly it's in my chair sitting next to my hubby and laughing with him. I love when I am anywhere with him, but it's nice to be relaxed right beside him!

Who do you consider your biggest role model?
That's super hard, but aside from my amazing mama, I would say some of the amazing leaders in AdvoCare along with the Women of Faith ladies.

I really like Kelly Minter. She's just honest and lives for God!

What does your life look like in 3 years?
Goodness! 2 kiddos, stay-at-home mommy, and loving my sweet husband!

If you could go back and change one decision what would it be?
I would have started AdvoCare sooner! I waited a whole 8 months from when it was shared with me. If I would have known I could have these results along with feeling my best ever, I would have started that day!

What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?
So far, it's been marrying the man of my dreams. He is an absolute blessing to me. I can't wait to see him as a daddy!

What about you?

In celebration of Tax Season.

For my hubby. He is without a doubt the smartest accountant (almost CPA - 3/4 done) I know!
Love you Dossinator!

Highlights: Week 11

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 11 weeks today!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: just a pound weird how I was two pounds last week and this morning I was a pound again. Hmm?!?

Maternity Clothes: Nope. Still wearing my regular clothes, but I have the sweet option of a black or nude Be Band now! So awesome to have some wiggle room in my regular clothes!

Sleep: I'm sleeping for sure, but the dreams are killer! Super bad nightmares have been haunting me. Two nights ago I dreamed that my mom told me she was terribly sick, had a bad dream that my Nannie was missing, my brother was in one, and last night dreamed the Dr told us it was a boy. The bad part about that is there were tons of people in front of the screen and I couldn't see a thing!

Best Moment this week: I would say it had to be when people find out we are expecting and get so excited! I mean perfect strangers that literally break out in smile! Our sweet furniture sales lady was ecstatic while we purchased our couch!

Gender: 6 more weeks until we find out!

Food Cravings: Pickles are still number one on my list! I got a bit of a sweet tooth this week and had an ice dream from Chick Fil A and Raisinets!

Food Aversions: still chicken...grilled=gross! Odd thing is, I can do fried! Funny how that works!

How’s Mama? Doing great! Mom and I went to Target today and found a sweet Pack and Play on clearance for $22! I have gotten workouts in and a tiny boost of energy from them! Sooo nice! I'm enjoying all of the planning and learning! I read a bit of What to Expect While You're Expecting. Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets dizzy and nearly blackout when I get out of bed too fast! Scary!

What I am looking forward to: our next appointment at the dr!

Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Sweet baby is the size of a lime!! You have all of your systems and they will keep maturing and growing as we progress! Keep it up!

Our message to you: We are in love with you! Sometimes your daddy pats my tiny tummy (it is showing a little bit) and tells you good night and kisses you before we leave! Your grandparents and aunts and uncles are so excited as well! They don't text to see how I am, they wanna know about you!

A lot of us don't drink enough water! I am amazed by what we are missing when we don't chug it down.

I hate when I hear people say, I don't like the taste of water! WHAT!?! Are you kidding? There's nothing to taste...get it down!

Why do we need to drink H20? The simple answer is...we need it! The complex answer is...weightloss, metabolism, oxygen, regulates our temperature, glowing skin, and the list goes on!

If that's not enough to convince you...

Still not convinced?

We need it! It helps us! Go drink a glass! :)

Highlights: Week 10

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 10 weeks today!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 2 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: Nope. Still wearing my regular clothes! Ran to Target today and got one of these HANDY DANDY inventions! Wouldn't you like to invent something this simple yet so useful? BeBands...can't wait to see if I like it tomorrow!
Sleep: I am sleeping comfortably, just wish I could sleep MORE!
Best Moment this week: I told my class on Tuesday that I was expecting a baby and wow! The comments that come from 5th graders! I have several little girls that are super excited. One came up, rubbed my belly today, and told me she could tell I had a little bump. HILARIOUS!
Gender: 7 more weeks until we find out!
Movement: I can't feel any movement yet, but we sure did see it at our Ultrasound appt. last week. The baby was kicking and waving at us. Baby may have had some hiccups or was just practicing a new dance move!
Food Cravings: Pickles are still my top priority! I brought some up to the mountains to snack on. My brother and sister house sat while we were on the retreat. When Greg, my bro, opened the fridge he counted 7 jars of pickles. I have to have some backup. Ryan told me this was a bit overboard, as I can only eat from one jar at a time. That's gave me an excuse to get rid of a jar last night!
Food Aversions: I tried to eat grilled chicken tonight...NOPE! I gave it to Ryno. I just can't stomach it right now.
How’s Mama? Another awesome week! I am getting more and more excited and eager to meet our little miracle! I came home and exercised for the first time that I found out we were expecting. It felt awesome to get some energy back!
What I am looking forward to:I can't wait to see Baby Doss' sweet fingers and toes!
Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Sweet baby is the size of a prune and has working arm and leg joints! She or he will also be getting fingernails and hair this week!
Our message to you: We are so excited to have you in our lives. It's often all we can think and talk about. You are beautiful and priceless to us. There are so many people who are preparing to meet you as well! Love you!

Retreat 2013

So, one of our very favorite parts of our church is the way we do groups. Instead of traditional Sunday School, you sign up to be placed into a group of people that are in your same stage of life. Ryan and I love being able to connect with people and grow closer in our walk with God because of it. We have been blessed to have another amazing group!

This weekend we drove up to the North Georgia mountains and had our annual retreat. It is a time that I look forward to each year.

We headed up on Friday evening, swung by and picked up Dossinator from work, and then ate at El Maguey for supper. Adam and Kristen were great navigators, especially when we turned in the correct lane of traffic (right Kristen)! We were all at dinner except Kati and Matt. Kati had a long two days before making her way to the cabin. She brought some of her high school students on an awesome field trip to NC. What a fabulous teacher!

We made it to the cabin around 10 and LOVED it! Kati and Matt were there right behind us. Will played a joke on them and told them the bedroom with the trundle was theirs. Their faces were priceless! Finally, the joke was dropped with a relieved Kati and Matt.  We all explored the cabin and picked out rooms! Will did a great job finding this little gem. The basement was loaded with games...pinball, video games, Wii, pool table, hot tub, and so much more. We were all in heaven.
Once we got settled in, the games began! The girls stayed up stairs and played Balderdash, while the boys had an intense game of poker (til around 5 am). They are dedicated to the game, especially with their Monopoly money!

After getting some much needed rest, Danielle made us a yummy breakfast casserole. We all slowly arrived in the kitchen and devoured all of it. She is an excellent baker for sure!

Not long after that, yep, game time again! This time we started with Mad Gab. It was hilarious to me, especially when Kristen, Kati, and Matt kept saying, "gray teb alls fov ire". This translated to "great balls of fire", but they couldn't hear themselves saying it. They sounded like French people to us!

Lunch was served, and we enjoyed eating it on the deck. Winter weather was nowhere to be found. Pretty skies and 68* was our Saturday. Jenga was busted out and another annual competition was held. YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT THE PICS HERE! Will's turn caused the 30 and 2/3 blocks tall tower to fall. It had to be somebody. Great job guys!

The boys ran to grab some firewood, and this was our chance to decorate for Adam's birthday. He turned 26 while we were on the retreat. I am always impressed by what ladies can do with so little time! CREATIVE, I tell ya!

Some more games went down, and dinner was served! Kati and Matt made an awesome Italian dinner, and we enjoyed birthday cake. Miss USA came on, more poker was played, hot tub fun, and girl talk was had!

The next morning we awoke to cleaning and straightening up the cabin! We munched on some more breakfast casserole and said our goodbyes. Thanks to Kati and Matt who drove us back to Ryan's work.

What a blessing this weekend was. My 10-week prego self had some trouble keeping my eyes opened at time, but it was just what I needed: precious time with sweet life friends.

In 6 days something huge happened!

I headed back for my "official" appointment on Wednesday! Last week's was to make sure the baby was ok since I had the flu and ran fevers!

Well, God is good! Since Ryan took off last week, my sissy got to spend the afternoon with me and see the baby on the big screen!

We immediately heard the heartbeat- 182 bpm - and then watched as our little olive started kicking, waving, and doing a couple of moves that looked like hiccups!

Tears started streaming out of our eyes! How precious! In just 6 days the sweet baby had grown little arm and leg buds, I saw eyes, and a more defined nose!

What a great day! I loved sharing it with Erin! After the doctor's we enjoyed Olive Garden salad and shopping at Ulta! This mama needed some new makeup since I have gotten a tad pale this winter!

Check out our before (left pic) and after (right)!

Highlights: Week 9

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 9 weeks today!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: maybe gained 1 lb. Hard to say...fluctuates right now.
Maternity Clothes: Nope. Still wearing my regular clothes! Although about 2 days ago, this little tummy has a bump it didn't's one you can't get rid of by sucking in. Ryan sees it too. I made him check it out, so I didn't feel so crazy when I saw it.
Sleep: Doing well...but I could sleep ALL of the time. I do have one SPARK a day. I drink it in the morning, but by 3 pm...I need a NAP. I am not a napper, so this is definitely not something I have been excited about. I have too much to do to nap! :)
Best Moment this week: We went ahead and shared the news about Baby Doss. I was going to wait until the recommended 12-14 weeks, but when we went to our ultrasound (because of my flu/fever) the doc said the baby looks awesome! He said my risk of losing the baby is less than 3%. Here's to trusting you Doc! Sharing with our friends and more of our family has been a blessing. I love being able to celebrate with all of the other mommies!
Gender: We don't know, but my Daddy and Ryno think it's a boy. I am feeling girl. We shall see. My dad reminds me that he is very good about making these guesses. Glad you have a 50-50 shot, Daddy!
Movement: not yet! Got a bit of time before the flutters...then kicks!
Food Cravings: YES! So, at first it was anything carbs. Now my cravings have progressed to Subway. GROSS! I am not allowed to have processed meat, I hate how I smell when I walk out of a Subway, but something about that sign on the drive home from work makes me want to stop. NOTGONNAHAPPEN! Pickles make this girl happy. Is 4 a night a bad thing?
Food Aversions: Getting better, but grilled chicken (my favorite go-to meat) is not my favorite right now. It has to be covered up in spaghetti sauce or vinaigrette dressing. I really haven't been keen on the taste or smell of onions either.
How’s Mama? I am doing great! Especially having the yucky flu behind me. I started back to school today after having a wonderful break. I didn't realize just how much I missed the class until I saw their faces this morning!
What I am looking forward to: I can't wait to know whether baby Doss is a boy or a girl. I am pinning like crazy. It will help me narrow all of my ideas down!
Our Baby in Veggie/Fruit Terms: Sweet baby is a green olive! I go in on Wednesday for another ultrasound and to hear the heartbeat again! Can't wait!
What Baby Doss is up to: Baby doss is getting all of those muscles working! Your nose and your sweet face is forming. How cool is that? Your little arms were starting to form last week! You're growing super fast! Stay strong and keep up this hard work!
