36 Weeks with Maggie!

Growth: According to this weeks BUMP info,
  • Baby's getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on his or her own.
  • Baby's skin is getting smooth and soft and the gums are rigid.
  • Baby's liver and kidneys are in working order.
  • Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go too.
Baby's still in the 17.2- to 18.7-inch and 4.2- to 5.8-pound range and continues to beef up.

My Symptoms: I have had a few Braxton Hicks, but if I sit down and relax I can normally get them to stop or chill out. My feet swelled up a bit on Sunday (2 different times), so I downed some Rehydrate to help with that. I have times during the day where I can hardly breathe and then times I think "has she dropped" because breathing is no issue and I feel like I have room.

Gender: Sweet girl!
Maternity Clothes: Since it's getting warmer, I have been able to pull out clothes that I wore while pregnant with Vann. That's been refreshing.

Movement: She's super active right now! It feels like she is constantly moving!

Sleep: Since the time change I am still waking up every 2-3 hours, but it's around 1 and 3 now and I can normally sleep in until 6 am.
Vann is a great sleeper! He wants me to "seep wif him for just a wittle bit".
I will sleep wherever I can!

Cravings/Aversions: Maybe some in season fruit will be here soon. I want fresh food! I can't find very good fruit anywhere!

Appointment: My 36 week appointment went great. Everything looks great. I am a 1 right now and 50% softened. I walked around like that with Vann until I went into labor the day before his official due date.

Accomplishments: I still have lots to do, but have checked off a few more things. Hopefully my list will get smaller by the next post.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: I'd say it was on Saturday when Ryan and I got to work around the house a lot. We woke up and ran to Home Depot with Vann to get some plants and mulch. Vann loves Home Depot and it was precious to see him ride the cart and help pick out flowers. He helped me plant them once we got home and took a great nap. It was a good day to spend with my boys!
Thoughts: Maggie, we are about a month away from meeting you! You are so loved and your daddy keeps saying he can't wait to hold you! Your big brother has more and more plans for you daily. I hope you're ready!!
Vann was 'listening' to Maggie's heartbeat! He told me he put 'butter' aka jelly on my belly. He's been paying attention at the dr appointments!
Fun Facts:
  • weight gain: 30 lbs.
  • stretch marks: Belly is stretch mark free.
  • mood: nervous and anxious
  • belly button: It's popping out after I eat!
  • wedding rings: still on!
Goals for next week:
Haven't changed!!
*Still need to pack hospital bag (mine, Ryan's, and Vann's overnight bag)
*Finish up nursery - it's almost ready except for the finishing touches.

35 Weeks & Maternity Photos

Growth: Grow baby grow, just go easy on mama's belly! Goodness! She is a ball of energy most times and loves to stretch out. I can't wait to meet her and hold her in my arms. Her heartbeat was strong at the dr appt last week coming in at 145. She's measuring right at 35 weeks. The average baby is around 5 1/2 lbs right now and putting on fat. She is head down, back is on the left side of my belly and her legs are pushed against the right side of my belly. I can feel her little punches as well.
My Symptoms: After a breakdown on Monday (hormones) I have felt good. This weather is amazing and has really helped my mood. I have also been reading to prepare for the birth again, so that is helping my anxiety calm a bit.

Gender: Sweet girl!
Maternity Clothes: Yes! Along with Ryan's tshirts and his gym shorts when I am home...that means this is an everyday look. I mean it's real attractive...

Movement: Oh yes! My suspicions about how she was positioned were right. She really likes to stretch her back and then push her legs out...this makes my tummy feel like it may split down the center, but a great reminder that she is growing and moving.
Sleep: I have my little routine to wake up around 2 am and then thankfully can go back to sleep until around 6 am. God is just preparing me for those nightly feeds and I am ok with that. One thing about being pregnant again is realizing the stages of pregnancy and after birth really fly by. If it's not easy, it will pass and everything gets better. I continually remind myself of this and it truly helps.

Cravings/Aversions: I got to eat Olive Garden with my sis, mom, sis-in-love, niece, and Vann on Saturday night. I had my favorite salad along with eggplant parmesan (a favorite as long as I can remember...maybe started around 13?). It was delicious. On Monday we bought lots of fruit. Eating healthy has really helped me feel better as well!
Appointment: My 34 week appointment went well. Vann has gone to nearly every appointment with me and he does so well. He knows the routine and gets pretty pumped about a lollipop at the end. My blood pressure was 111/70 I think which is a bit higher than my normal, but still good. The fundal height measurement matched up with the week of pregnancy and everything looks healthy. I will say I wish I had another ultrasound. I haven't had one since 20 weeks and we aren't getting a 4D this go round.

Accomplishments: I am starting to read my birthing books again. It's a great refresher and it's helped me remember some good things that I did while in labor with Vann. Ryan seems totally ready and is excited. He was a pro for sure last go round.
Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: This week it was so nice to have my sister in town. We got to spend a good bit of time with her. She bought a kit that lets you make your own bows, so Mom and Erin looked at all of the outfits Maggie has and made some coordinating bows. That made it even more real to have bows in our house and see so much pink. She also took some maternity photos of the family while she was in town. I love them and I am so thankful she captured them for us! Hey, it's better to get the pics late than never take them right?

Thoughts: Maggie, It's almost time. Last night you were just a moving and a grooving the whole time. It is such a great sign that you are getting ready to join us and let us love on you! We are praying for you and the people that will be helping bring you into the world. To say we are excited is an understatement!

Fun Facts:
  • weight gain: no idea and I don't think I want to know. I will find out at my 36 week appt. :)
  • stretch marks: None on the belly, but I keep thinking I may see some because of how my belly feels when she stretches out.
  • mood: feeling very excited and nervous about what's to come!!
  • belly button: It's popping out as Erin pointed out on Tuesday afternoon. :)
  • wedding rings: yep!

Goals for next week:
*Still need to pack hospital bag (mine, Ryan's, and Vann's overnight bag)
*Finish up nursery - it's almost ready except for the finishing touches.

34 Weeks with Maggie!

And just like that, we have 6ish weeks left before we welcome Miss Maggie home! Here's the Maggie bump at 34 weeks.

Growth: Maggie is still growing and I can tell because my belly is FULL of baby! She is around 17-19 inches and around 4-6 lbs. She should have all of her fingernails now and they reach the tip of her fingers.

My Symptoms: I have almost kicked the cough. It's been the most annoying part of the cold I started about 2 weeks ago. I will be so happy to not cough, and I know Ryan will as well. Other than that, I have been able to breathe a bit better the last two days and that makes me HAPPY!

Gender: Sweet girl!

Maternity Clothes: Yep! The weather on Sunday and the past few days has been a taste of spring. I was able to go into my stash of maternity clothes from when I had Vann and use one of my favorite shirts. That was very exciting and hopefully the weather is just as good so I can use one of my dresses on Sunday for church and my cousin's baby shower.

Movement: She's a little rockstar. Today she hasn't stopped moving. I am thinking I can tell how she's positioned and boy I hope I am right. My sis will be home on Friday and can feel my belly to make sure. I think she's head down, but her feet are now in my right rib instead of my left!

Sleep: This week it's been going well. I had been avoiding my boppy body pillow because I was already getting really warm at night with the heat on, but with the weather the past few nights we've been able to turn the fan on. I took out the pillow last week and have slept pretty well!

Cravings/Aversions: I am ready for fresh fruit to come into season. I am loving salads for lunch and my vanilla shake each morning. At dinner my eyes get bigger than my stomach is, and each night when Ryan and I sit down to relax I have a spoonful of peanut butter with some chocolate chips on top.

Appointment: I have my 34 week appt this week, so hopefully it will go well!

Accomplishments: Maggie's closet is a bit closer to being ready for her. I have gotten her room a tad more organized. I bought some laundry detergent to wash her clothes, now I just need to wash them. I washed her carseat liner (Vann's carseat originally). I also prepped and placed 40 lbs of chicken into freezer bags Monday. So, I have lots of chicken ready for crockpot meals when Maggie arrives.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: We took our big boy to the circus this weekend and he did really well. It was a great time to spend as a family and Maggie was bee-bopping around to all of the circus music.

Thoughts: Maggie, To see pink floral clothing that is replacing your brother's blue clothes is making your birth even more real. We are on a daily countdown: 43, 42, 41...we can't wait to meet you and I am especially excited for your daddy and brother to hold you.

Fun Facts:
  • weight gain: 27ish lbs and going strong! It fluctuates a couple pounds but has been pretty consistent.
  • stretch marks: None on the belly!
  • mood: feeling very excited and nervous about what's to come!!
  • belly button: It's still flat but when I cough it pops out!
  • wedding rings: yep!

Goals for next week:
*Pack hospital bag (mine, Ryan's, and Vann's overnight bag)
