Thanks to Danielle, over at Butler, Party of 2, I was given a Blogger Award! Thanks girl!
Here we go…
1. What is your current beauty obsession?
Hmmm! It hasn't changed in a while, but I can never stop using my Bare Minerals! I love them. It's easy to drop some major cash down when I go in the store because it is the BEST! I absolutely LOVE that they put SPF in it. That along with my moisturizer makes me feel that much safer during the day!
2. What is one beauty item you wish you owned?
I have no clue! I feel like I have everything that I really NEED. I guess if I could get anything though it would be one of those double barrel curling irons to create the spirals that I love! Hmmm...hard one!
3. What kind of posts are you favorite to read and write?
I love reading home decor and house tour posts! People are so creative. I definitely get a lot of inspiration from those!
I love writing vacation posts and posts with a lot of pictures. I am very visual which is why I like the home ones, too. It shows you, instead of tells! Like that!
4. What inspired you to become a blogger?
When I got engaged, I wanted an easy way to document what was happening. My family and friends keep up with me a lot on my blog. It has been really neat to go back a couple of years and see where Ryan and I were and how we've grown! I also have a good friend that inspired me, Sara over at Mixon Mania, and I liked how connected with others that had similar interests she became! The blogging community is awesome!
5. What color nail polish are you wearing right now?
Nothing! But my nails are growing like crazy because of my awesome vitamins! The MNS Max 3 has lots of core nutrition in there including OmegaPlex! You can seriously tell a difference. I may be treating myself to a mani/pedi on Friday though...who knows!
And now I get to choose 4 great ladies for the Laine Blogger Award! DRUMROLL PLEASE!
Sara @ Mixon Mania
Mary @ Sew. Cook. Create.
Brittney @ Livin' Our Love Song
Danielle @ Holt's Hoopla
There are so many times I wonder...what is my purpose! Do you?
It continues to get more clear with every day I wake up. Keep seeking after yours and make it happen! In order to find your purpose set goals.

My friend Danielle wrote a beautiful post about goals and being driven. Check it out!
What is your WHY?
Who says eating clean has to be expensive?
Right now is the prime time to start, because this season produces the best foods for your body!
All of this was purchased from ALDI and cost me $32.10.
- peppers
- pineapple
- grapes
- pickles
- tomatoes
- avacados
- lettuce
- 2 cans of rotel
- stir-fry veggies
- salsa
- boneless skinless chicken breast
- 2 packs of low sodium rice cakes
- brown rice
- tomato sauce
Last night, we had our stir-fry veggies and chicken on the George Foreman and had leftovers for lunch and another meal! It was healthy, easy, and cheap!
In the case of clean eating, it's not so much the quantity of calories but the quality!
Since the food you are eating is not as processed as the other things in packages, it's got more of what nature intended it to have.
Now, I know it is not in it's purest form and we need supplements to keep our bodies healthy and rid off diseases. That's why I choose to add in vitamins to my daily regimen! I love AdvoCare just for that.
It's the perfect way to see results in your body without spending 10 hours a week in the gym! The gym is only going to HELP MORE!
I have been impressed by my friends and family that choose to live their lives by eating smart and not caring what people think! You will be better off in the long run without sneaking one of those Little Debbie Cakes!
Here's a little food for thought to leave you with:
Simple? I vote yes! Don't sabotage your body!
Happy Daddy's Day!
I love you more than words can say!
I love being around you!
I love giving you hugs!
I love hearing you laugh!
I love telling stories about you!
I love how real you were in raising me!
I love that you told me often that you love Mom more than any of us kids! It makes perfect sense now.
I thank you for being the very first man that my heart loved! You are an awesome example!
Love you Daddy!
Hello. How ’bout that ride in? I guess that’s why they call it the Hartsfield Airport.
You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when I met Ryan and we got married, I knew he was one of my own. And our wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were two of us in the wolf pack… I was alone first in the pack, and then Ryan joined in later. And eight years ago, when Ryan introduced me to you guys, I thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the airport together, in Atlanta, looking for a flight and good times. So tonight, I make a toast!
Sunday morning last week wasn't an ordinary Sunday. It was the day Ryan, Kayla, Adam and I were flying from Atlanta into Florida to start the Doss family vacation. June 10th turned into a memory we will never forget! We packed up on Saturday night with Lyla getting a bit depressed we were leaving.
Sunday am, we all met up at our house and rode out to the Atlanta airport. We hit some rain, a little trouble finding a parking spot, and my luggage may have weighed 1.5 lbs over the limit. It was about 9:45 when we started through security. No biggie, right. We started down Terminal C and got to our gate. No one was there. We thought - heck yeah, we are early!
It was 10:13 and the flight departs at 10:20. Well, needless to say the doors to the gate were closed and we were rudely told that we missed the flight. WHAT?!?!?! I had to walk away because I don't get angry much, but when I do it's not pretty. I worked on holding my tongue while Kayla begged and they adamantly told her nope. Apparently on our boarding passes it says "Gates close 10 minutes before flight" IN SIZE 6 FONT!
So, we were told we would be placed on standby, but would definitely have a confirmed flight at 6:52.
We stayed optimistic and had a lot of fun! We made it to Victory Lane aka Winner's Circle a total of three times and met a fun waitress there. She absolutely loved it when Ryan started reciting all of the fun facts from his phone! Did you know that all polar bears are left handed? Me either.
There were 4 flights before our 6:52 one that we were supposed to be on standby for. Needless to say...none of those worked out!!
Around 6:20 we made our way to the gate and loaded the plane. There was some dancing down the hallway to the plane, and by this time we were absolutely DELIRIOUS. We made lots of friends and sat right next to the Air Marshall, Andrew.
Kayla would ask Andrew questions that would help us determine if he in fact was the Air Marshall. He was. 37. In good physical shape. Flying solo. Very observant. Sitting near the exit. Military experience. His favorite gun was one without a safety. Even though he'd never admit it. He was.
When the plane landed we were in the middle of a storm on the runway. We sat for another hour waiting to unload the plane. Want to know what we did then? Ryan read some more fun facts and we decided to start a sing along. Most of the people found us amusing and joined in making the best of our long day. Some, you can see them in front of Kayla and Adam may have been covering their ears!
We finally made it off the airplane. Then, we walked around for an hour trying to get our rental car. We met Mickey at McDonald's and made it to our beach house at 2 am! That was enough adventure for one day, but we made it the most fun! I am thankful for that time!
This is for my ladies who may need that small or HUGE bit of encouragement to keep doing what they are doing! Hard work pays off!
Do any of these speak to you like they do to me?
Enjoy this beautiful Saturday and share life with others!
It's true! I love my hairstylist! She is the sweetest and most talented lady!
I look forward to getting my hair done with her every time! I trust her completely with my hair which is something a lot of my friends can't say about their stylist!
Today, even though I am headed to the pool, she wanted to curl it for me! Really, YOU are amazing Carrie!
She did a trim today and retouched my highlights! It looks shorter because of the curls, but it's getting LONG! I LOVE IT!

Thanks Carrie! Love you!
