Athens Church

Beware...I am about to brag!

Well, life has not been short of blessings already this year. Ryan and I continue growing in our relationship with God and each other. One big reason for this is Athens Church. WOW!

If you remember my LoVe post I spoke about when my sister asked me to go with her, and for that I am grateful more than she will ever know.

Athens Church has a special mission and I love being a part of it. They meet for the next 14 weeks in The Classic Center in downtown Athens which is cool in itself. We are in the process of moving to the old WalMart on Atlanta Hwy! It will be an awesome worship facility.

Ryan and I took a step of faith and joined a Community Group through the church. Don't worry, Ryan was a bit reluctant and we almost turned the car around. God was totally working through me...as if I didn't already have enough on my plate to add a weekly meeting 30 minutes away in Athens. Well, He knew this was just what we needed.

We were placed in a group with 6 other couples that are pretty recently married and without children. After meeting together for 8 weeks and studying what this group is about...GOD, we voted to continue our group for the next year! Everyone committed. Such a blessing.

We have done some neat things together; shared important moments about our walk with God, supported each other through the good & bad, enjoyed dinners and hayrides, and so much more!

We are planning a retreat for March and I can't wait to see what God has in store.

Last week we just finished our book study of Love & Respect! If you are married or plan to one day then take some time away from your busy schedule and read this. It will help you understand the differences in you and your spouse!

Visit Athens Church any Sunday! :) We'd LOVE to see you there!

  2. I am so thankful for y'all and it has been cool to watch God bless you both through that church & your small group. I can tell you have both grown from it! I'm a little sad we don't go to teh same church, but I think we both have stuff to brig to the table from our different churches. For example, God laid it on my heart to start a small group for couples when we get a new home- and use this book. So, thanks for sharing! LOVE you!!!!
