Top 2 Tuesday : money

By Mama’s Minute - 6:43 AM

This week's Top 2 Tuesday is about money. How fitting for my situation the past two days on making a decision. Here are the top 2 things I have learned about money.

1. Don't spend it if you don't have it. In the world today it's all about instant gratification. That means credit cards are used for tons of things. My hubby went over my choice to buy a car last night (it PAYS (haha) to have an accounting hubby). I am "wanting 70% and needing 80%" a used (new-to-me) car. So, while we were looking I came across a high-end SUV that had low mileage and was a good deal...a good deal if I wanted to pay over $500 a month for a tool that gets me to work, church and elsewhere. It's not worth it to me. Cars are not an investment, well not the cars I can afford right now. I would rather use my money for others and memories. Thank you Ry for helping me see the light! Save money - a set amount each paycheck. It will be worth it when you pay cash for your vacay, car, or that item that you have in your sight! PS - Did you know that less that 43% of American workers have less that $10k in their retirement right now? Save now, spend later.

2. Give back to He who gives to you. It is only by God that I am blessed with all that I have including a nice house, running car, amazing husband, etc...so, in part of my praise to him WE, Doss and I, give to Him through offering in order to help spread His word.

Psalms 24:1 — “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

Romans 11:36a — “For from him and through him and to him are all things ...”

Matthew 6:24 — “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

(my favorite) Matthew 25:21 — “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ ”
